L’Industrie Magnifique Lyon Saint-Etienne

L’Industrie Magnifique is a collaborative movement bringing together businesses, artists, and public authorities. It takes shape through a concrete initiative: bringing art and industry together in public spaces.

Inspired by the original L’Industrie Magnifique, launched in Strasbourg, the first edition of the event in the Lyon/Saint-Étienne region took place from October 16 to 26, 2025.

Les Forges de Monplaisir

Benoît Billotte presents a poetic sculpture inspired by the crown, an emblematic object of the industrial process at Forges de Monplaisir. The repetition of this circular form, evolving from raw to chrome-finished, evokes a plant-like shape.

Inspired by the purification process at the Saint-Fons treatment plant, Amélie Lengrand created a glass and metal sculpture evoking the water molecule and its cycles. As part of a circular approach, she incorporated glass made from sewage sludge, produced by Atelier Lucile Viaud.

Initiated by Studio Ganek and resulting from a collaboration between Théâtre de Leysee, UFCS FR Formation Insertion, and artist-author Agathe Chevallier, France Sommeil is a collective creation by a group of people enrolled in a professional integration programme, exploring their relationship with work.

Studio Ganek offers a collective experience that goes beyond the museum space and enters a more intimate one: the home.

Collective artwork

The inhabitants, helped by artist Morgane Demoreuille, colour the ground of Lyon Péri district area!

Collectively conceived for and by the inhabitants, with the artist during workshops organised by associated structures, tens of shapes are drawn onto the asphalt street.

The street Gilbert Dru was illuminated with fluorescent painting and black lighting during the Lights Festival 2023.

Dans la nuit fauve is a collective exhibition presented at the MLIS Villeurbanne in February 2022. Video, installation, painting in situ and game to manipulate come together in a warm atmosphere. Here, skin is omnipresent, its texture, its formation, and its smell, seem to spread in the rotunda of the art library drawn by Mario Botta.
